Reno Portrait Society: Portraits and More
The Reno Portrait Society welcomes you to the 2026 exhibit of their work. The Reno Portrait Society was founded in 1957 by a group of artists dedicated to painting portraits from life. The Society has continued to grow and expand through the years to enjoy and learn from the shared experience of the art of portraiture. The Society meets weekly to work from a model. Artists work in a variety of mediums, from charcoal and graphite and pastel to watercolor and oil. Workshop participants continually explore our diverse community to work from models of varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds. As portrait artists all faces are unique and interesting. All have a compelling presence and interesting stories which we strive to communicate on paper or canvas. Of course, most of the artists who are members of the group also work with other subjects and mediums. The show, PORTRAITS AND MORE , is a reflection of the varied interests of Reno Portrait Society Members.
Colt Culture: Artworks from the Students at Earl Wooster High School
Young artists from all over Colt Territory have teamed up to display new artworks that represent who they are and what they care about at this point in their lives. Students from Advanced Ceramics, Drawing, IB Visual Arts and other elective courses have submitted artwork for this showcase of their talents and skills. Earl Wooster High School has been a haven for the arts since its construction in 1962, and we are proud to participate in the long-unbroken chain of artmaking and artistic development of young artists in our community. The themes and subject matter of each artwork were chosen by the artists, but they all reflect what “Colt Culture” means to them.
