- ➤ The annual Christmas tree recycling program returns for the holidays, offering residents an eco-friendly way to recycle trees at three Truckee Meadows locations from Dec. 26 through Jan. 11 (drop-off hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). Volunteers can sign up to assist the program. KRNV

HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Nevada’s 988 hotline improved its call response rate by serving nearly 42,000 callers in 2024 and more by November; officials note that Reno once hosted the only center and plan to connect 911 and 211 in 2026 (aiming at faster, integrated crisis services). Reno Gazette Journal
- ➤ Kaia FIT held free holiday workouts on Christmas Day + the sessions featured a walk or run for Reno residents. More festive sessions are expected in the coming days. 2NEWS
- ➤ Northern Nevada Public Health confirmed an unvaccinated resident tested positive for measles on Friday, Dec. 26 and was hospitalized, marking the first case in Washoe County since 2018.
