  • A community baby shower was hosted on Dec. 3 by Molina Health Care (Northern Nevada HOPES co-hosted the event) for local families.  2NEWS
  • The Salvation Army is collecting donations for its Angel Tree program in Reno + inviting community members to help local families during the holidays.  2NEWS

CULTURE NEWS

  • Steve Alford will give his first talk of a series of twelve live talks for the 2025 to 2026 season at the Grand Sierra Resort. The event will let local fans listen to his views on basketball and leadership.  2NEWS

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The College of Business at UNR will launch a new personal financial planning program to help students manage their money. Enrollment details and course dates are expected to be shared soon.  2NEWS

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • RTC has set lane shifts on Mill Street between Kietzke Lane and I-580 for utility trenching over the next two weeks. Drivers will not be able to turn left onto Golden Lane or Reservation Road — a detour is provided.  2NEWS
  • The Reno City Council unanimously approved adding the Luella Garvey House to the city’s Register of Historic Places on Dec. 3. Designed in 1934 by Paul Revere Williams, the duplex at 589-599 California Ave. — featuring Colonial Revival and French Regency details — joins the city’s recognized historic properties.  Reno Gazette Journal

  • Reno officials warn that dropping temperatures may lead to dangerous winter conditions that can be deadly & advise residents to dress warmly and monitor local forecasts for safety.  2NEWS
