ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Seven local agencies, including Truckee Fire Protection District, secured $8 million from CAL FIRE’s Forest Health Program — with matching funds — to boost forest health across nearly 3,000 acres in Nevada and Placer counties. The two-year project will thin trees, replant areas, use biomass, and perform prescribed burning to lessen wildfire risk through 2026 and 2027. KUNR
