- ➤ A coffee cantina bar concept is planned for the former Blind Dog Tavern space at the Palladio in downtown Reno. Karajillo and Co. filed for a business license in September, passed fire, environmental and compliance reviews, and will appear before the City Council on Oct. 22 to seek a privileged license. - ➤ Reno Rodeo pre-sale tickets are now available exclusively for locals both in-person and online—buyers must show a valid driver's license or utility bill with photo ID—and the sale ends on October 24 while general sales will begin on October 27. - ➤ Northern Nevada Public Health launched a program that turns pollution fines into funds for local environmental projects. Eligible groups such as nonprofits, schools, and tribal organizations can submit proposals for projects like planting trees or reducing wildfire risks—project budgets can reach up to $100,000. KRNV
- ➤ Wildlife officials captured a two-year-old male bear in south Reno on Thursday and released it into its natural habitat on Friday—after it ran up a tree, the team used yelling as aversive conditioning to keep it away from homes. Residents are advised to secure food, garbage, and recycling to minimize bear attraction. 2NEWS
