ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Tech companies are planning AI data centers at the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center that will use large amounts of water for cooling—raising concerns that rising demand in this drought-stricken region may limit supplies for local users such as Pyramid Lake. KUNR
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Reno city officials have expanded the Sierra Kids program—launching the new Sierra Tots program to serve younger children. The program will build on existing services to support early childhood care. 2NEWS
- ➤ NDOT set chain controls on Mt. Rose Highway near Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe and dispatched plows to clear and sand the roadway as wintry weather moved in—drivers were advised to slow down and allow extra space for slower out-of-state visitors. Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe also began winter maintenance with crews keeping parking lots and walkways clear. 2NEWS
