- ➤ Today, the Washoe County Sheriff's Office hosts its annual Incline Community Picnic at Aspen Grove and Village Green in Incline Village at 960 Lakeshore Boulevard from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — the event offers free hot dogs and hamburgers, interactive law enforcement exhibits featuring special teams like K9, RAVEN, Mounted Horse, SWAT and Search and Rescue, and booths from community agencies. 2NEWS

- ➤ Douglas County roads reopened after flash flooding—East Fork Firefighters rescued an elderly woman and saved several puppies swept away by floodwaters. 2NEWS

- ➤ Starbucks announced that it will close 1% of its stores and cut 900 non-retail positions nationwide to reduce costs. A Reno spokesperson said affected local stores will display signage and email notifications— the Starbucks app will update on Sunday. Reno Gazette Journal

- ➤ The Dragon Lights Festival opened Friday and will run through November 30 at the Wilbur D. May Arboretum and Botanical Gardens at Rancho San Rafael Park—featuring 40 new lantern sculptures and operating nightly from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. 2NEWS

- ➤ Starting October 1, fire restrictions on public and unincorporated private lands managed by the BLM, NDF, and USFS in central and northwest Nevada will ease to allow campfires, smoking outdoors, and open flame tool use—while local burn bans may still apply. - ➤ Today, the Department of Justice announced a Memorandum of Understanding with Nevada to help enforce immigration laws—allocating FEMA funds and National Guard administrative support for federal operations.
