  • Five Sage Ridge School Students Announced as National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists

We are proud to announce that five of our seniors — Sam Browder, Aiden Charles, Saatvik Gaur, Emma Sapp, and Andrew Zhang — have been named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists in the 2026 competition. 🎉 This distinction underscores the strength of our academic program: last year, across all eight public high schools in Washoe County, only 17 students earned this recognition. For one school to celebrate five in a single year is an extraordinary achievement! The National Merit Scholarship Program is one of the nation’s most prestigious academic honors. Fewer than 1% of U.S. high school seniors are recognized as Semifinalists, and these students now have the opportunity to advance as Finalists and compete for part of $26 million in scholarships next spring.
