The Washoe County Sheriff's Office cracked down on illegal target shooting at Golden Eagle Regional Park after a bullet went through a home window last week — citing 12 shooters while warning that discharging firearms near residences may start wildfires as peak fire season nears.

The school police reminded Reno drivers to be careful in school zones after two traffic incidents occurred during the first week of school.

Patrol Sergeant Eric Diamond said drivers must stay alert during school pick up and drop off times—especially in the eight to ten minute windows that are most risky.

Sparks City Attorney Wes Duncan warned riders and parents today about the illegal use of high-speed electric dirt bikes—models like SurRon and Talaria—that have led to crashes, citations and severe injuries on public streets and sidewalks.

Starting August 18, the Nevada DMV updated its drive test scheduling to use the WaitWell system so drivers can check available dates online and receive secure text confirmations—this change does not apply to the North Las Vegas Commercial Driver's License, Reno CDL, or Laughlin offices.
