  • One adult and two minors were taken to the hospital after a single—vehicle crash along Spanish Springs Road near Vintage Hills Parkway early Saturday morning—Sparks Police suspect driving while intoxicated played a role.  2NEWS
  • Two people died in a single-vehicle crash at U.S. 395 and Lemmon Drive—Nevada State Police said the incident occurred early Saturday morning.  2NEWS

CRIME NEWS

  • The Sparks Police Department arrested three people and issued six tickets during a retail theft operation in partnership with Walmart and Kohl's—recovering about $1,034 of stolen merchandise and charging individuals with offenses including petit larceny and resisting.  2NEWS

  • Vendors gathered at Z Bar in Reno on August 16 to celebrate National Black-Owned Businesses Month. The pop-up shop showcased local black-owned brands—offering a space for entrepreneurs to share their work.  2NEWS

  • Firefighters report the Rancho Fire north of Cold Springs is 25% contained as they secure fire lines and mop up hotspots amid breezy conditions—evacuations have been lifted and authorities say the blaze was started by an individual grinding metal, with the investigation ongoing.  2NEWS
