- ➤ Body camera footage released on August 14 shows Reno police exchanging gunfire with suspect Dakota Hawver near a parking lot where he fired at officers before hiding behind a truck—six victims were shot with three killed and three treated—while the six officers involved remain on administrative leave pending investigation. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A wildfire in the Rancho Haven area has spread to 130 acres today and forced evacuations from nearby homes along Chuckwagon Road—firefighters are using an air attack and ground crews to keep the blaze away from buildings. Authorities in joint command advise residents to avoid the area. 2NEWS

- ➤ The Regional Transportation Commission will start work Monday, August 18 at the Vista Boulevard and Disc Drive intersection in Reno to improve traffic flow and safety. The project—adding a dedicated right-turn lane and extended left-turn lanes—will cause minor delays and lane closures. 2NEWS
