- ➤ A rollover crash at 7:15 a.m. Friday closed part of McCarran Blvd near Kietzke Lane in south Reno—one person was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and another person also was taken—while officials have not announced when the road will reopen. 2NEWS

- ➤ A car struck a pedestrian — then crashed into Eldorado Casino in downtown Reno on Thursday around 2:45 p.m. — and police said both the driver and the pedestrian received minor injuries while investigating a possible medical episode or mechanical issue. Reno Gazette Journal

- ➤ On August 8, the EPA found that CEMEX Construction Materials discharged up to 13 million gallons per day of wastewater into the Truckee River on tribal land — the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe reported water quality concerns. The agency fined the company $310,000 and required it to fund an $800,000 restoration project along Cold Creek to improve water quality and protect native fish. KUNR
