- ➤ A man was killed on Aug. 5 when he was struck by a vehicle on I-80 eastbound Wells Ave. on-ramp in Reno, and the Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the incident—officials are asking anyone with information to contact them. KRNV
- ➤ A man died after being hit by a car on the I-80 east Wells Avenue onramp early Tuesday morning—state police found him unresponsive at 12:15 a.m. and transported him to a nearby hospital where he subsequently died. 2NEWS

- ➤ Orlando Guzman was sentenced to life in prison in Reno for child sexual abuse and will be eligible for parole in 25 years — he was convicted earlier this year on three counts of lewdness with a child under 14 and one count of battery with intent to commit sexual assault. KRNV

- ➤ Washoe County opened a $22 million complex with 50 permanent housing units for people with disabilities Tuesday at the Nevada Cares Campus in Reno, where residents pay no more than 30% of their income for a studio apartment and receive services like mental health care and employment counseling—another 120 low-income units are being built with housing starting in September.
