- ➤ Amazing Dogs Rescue hosted an adoption event at PetSmart in Reno at 10:00 a.m. on the weekend at 5110 Mae Anne Avenue where dogs came with full health records, including shots, microchipping, and spay/neuter surgery — adoption fees start at $250 and help care for over 50 dogs — and the event aimed to find new homes for the animals. 2NEWS

- ➤ According to the Nevada State Police—a crash on I-80 near Lockwood blocked the left lane on the eastbound side and is under investigation. 2NEWS
- ➤ Heavy smoke was seen billowing from near Keystone Ave and Interstate 80 in Reno, and the Reno Fire Department is checking the cause. Officials are investigating the situation—more updates will follow as details become available. 2NEWS
- ➤ A minor aircraft fire occurred at Reno-Tahoe International Airport—officials reported a possible engine issue with the general aviation aircraft and the Reno Fire Department and Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting responded—and no injuries were reported; the airport remains open. KRNV

- ➤ On July 7, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office arrested Juan Gomez-Arredondo after he was seen with a stolen high-end bicycle at Reno Bike Night—he is accused of commercial burglary and grand larceny after the bike was reported stolen from Worldwide Cyclery in Sparks. KRNV

- ➤ A fire that started Sunday near Golden Eagle Park burned 20 acres in Sparks and was battled by TMFPD, the Bureau of Land Management and Sparks Fire Department with air tankers and a helicopter—windy conditions today prompt a Red Flag Warning with gusts up to 35 mph. Reno Gazette Journal
