  • Reno Public Market hosted a fundraiser for Davis Creek Park as it remains under restoration after last year's Davis Fire — donations are expected to support repair work.  2NEWS

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Emergency crews from Reno Fire Department and Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue mopped up a brush fire in south Reno Saturday night near the intersection of Veterans Parkway and South Meadows Parkway—fireworks started the blaze that grew from two to four acres without threatening any structures.  2NEWS
  • Reno Fire Department responded at 9:33 p.m. Saturday to an attic fire at 1435 Radcliffe Drive—27 firefighters placed salvage covers and shut off power and gas for safety as they contained the blaze while the cause remained under investigation.  2NEWS
  • A juvenile was seriously injured in Sparks on July 18 at 11:42 p.m. when a car struck his non-street-legal motorcycle at the intersection of O’Callaghan Drive and E. Greenbrae Drive—he was taken to a local hospital.  KRNV

CRIME NEWS

  • Sparks Police Department arrested Monica Coffman + Jason Vasquez for methamphetamine possession just before 8:00 a.m. on July 14 at the Legends Bay Casino Parking lot, and they were booked into Washoe County Detention Facility.  2NEWS

  • The Washoe County Sheriff's Office hosted its 7th annual Christmas in July event for area youth at the Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows in Reno.  2NEWS
