- ➤ Living Stones Church in Reno is weighing a move to the former Century theater site on the downtown riverwalk. Executive Pastor Craig Parish said the church is doing due diligence to decide if the space will support both worship and community activities such as a coffee shop + art gallery. KRNV

- ➤ Playfield 76 reopened at its new downtown location on Lake Street with bar manager Nathan Stevens saying he looks forward to serving everyone — anyone is welcome to visit. The venue is open six days a week and closed on Mondays. 2NEWS

- ➤ The City of Reno secured nearly $1.7 million to install 114 flashing beacons replacing static school zone signs and improve safety at high-priority areas — zones chosen based on the greatest student safety concerns. City officials said installation will begin soon. 2NEWS
- ➤ Reno’s National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges celebrated its 88th anniversary with an event on July 10 at Hidden Valley Country Club—judicial leaders, court professionals and community members honored nearly nine decades of family justice through tributes and a lived-experience presentation. The organization serves an estimated 30,000 professionals nationwide and is an affiliate of the University of Nevada, Reno. 2NEWS

- ➤ A heat advisory is in effect today from 11 a.m. to 11 a.m. PDT Wednesday as high temperatures of 98-105 degrees and overnight lows in the upper 60s and lower 70s are expected in Surprise Valley and parts of northern Nevada including Greater Reno-Carson City-Minden Area—residents are urged to drink fluids and avoid prolonged outdoor activities to prevent heat illnesses. 2NEWS
