  • On July 4, Storey County deputies responded to a report of possible animal abuse at a remote property where they found 18 horses and burros in poor health and are working with the property owner—along with the Department of Agriculture and local horse advocacy groups—to ensure the animals receive food, water, vet care and possible adoption.  2NEWS

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County will begin construction on the Veterans Roundabout project tomorrow, July 7, in south Reno as it builds a new roundabout at Veterans Parkway and Geiger Grade Road and a combined intersection at S. Virginia Street, Geiger Grade Road, and Mount Rose Highway. Drivers should expect lane closures and detours during construction—one lane in each direction remains open with extra left turn and through lanes maintained.  2NEWS
