CRIME NEWS

  • Sparks Police identified 19-year-old Felipe Acuna as the Reno man killed in a shooting near Greenbrae Drive last Friday night at a car meet—an altercation that led to multiple shots and an investigation that is still ongoing.  2NEWS

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation announced it shut down its operations on July 3 due to severe financial mismanagement by former executive director Heidi Anderson and laid off all staff while suspending summer camps and AmeriCorps programs. City of Reno officials are working with the foundation board to maintain some programs—such as the Junior Explorers Summer Day Camp at Rosewood Nature Area—as federal investigations continue.  2NEWS

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Lansing-Arcus LLC is restarting its controversial Lemmon Valley project rejected in 2021 by proposing an industrial park with 225 acres for warehouses and 92 acres for homes.
