- ➤ Sparks Police arrested seven people and issued tickets to three others last week during a retail theft operation at Lowe’s and Target in Sparks—stolen merchandise worth $764 was recovered. 2NEWS
- ➤ Police arrested 28-year-old Dejohn Radigan on June 24th after he allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend's home, got into a fight inside, and was later seen at her window—prompting a yard-to-yard chase with drone and K9 assistance before he was booked on charges including aggravated stalking, a probation violation, and obstructing. - ➤ Southwest Gas customers will see lower bills starting July 1 as Nevada’s Public Utilities Commission approved a significant cut in its deferred energy rate — the change is expected to drop bills by more than $10 in southern parts and over $18 in northern areas. The Commission is also investigating NV Energy’s billing errors that overcharged thousands for years and led to service disconnections. Reno Gazette Journal

- ➤ The Conner Fire is 84% contained after burning nearly 18,000 acres since last Friday—Governor Lombardo visited the scene near Gardnerville. Topaz Lake has reopened—crews continue mop-up work. 2NEWS

- ➤ BLM announced closures of parts of the Black Rock Desert playa for the Burning Man event, with phase 1 limiting access to 9,941 acres (less than 3% of the playa) from July 24 through August 16 and again from September 6 through October 5. Phase 2 will close 51,149 acres (33% of the playa) from August 17 through September 5 while the rest remains open for recreation. KRNV
- ➤ The Bureau of Land Management will temporarily close parts of Black Rock Desert playa to boost public safety during Burning Man. The closures include a first phase covering about 9,941 acres from July 24 through Aug. 16 and again from Sept. 6 through Oct. 5 and a second phase covering 51,149 acres from Aug. 17 through Sept. 5 — the rest of the playa will stay open for dispersed recreation. 2NEWS
