- ➤ Spirit Airlines will launch a seasonal nonstop flight route between Reno and San Diego on August 14—flights will run Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday until Sept. 2. The flights will depart San Diego International at 8:16 a.m. (arriving in Reno-Tahoe at 9:46 a.m.) or leave Reno-Tahoe at 10:41 a.m. (arriving in San Diego at 12:17 p.m.) with one-way tickets starting at $56. - ➤ A Reno man convicted of drug trafficking faces up to 25 years in prison after police found more than eight pounds of fentanyl during their investigation—his sentencing will be scheduled soon. 2NEWS
- ➤ On June 12 at 6:49 p.m., a man was arrested after a crash on US-395 at Parr Blvd. turned violent when the Tesla’s driver, John Dominic Saldana, exited his car with a gun and fired at a Jeep’s driver, hitting a tire, and investigators said all parties are cooperating—there is no ongoing safety threat. - ➤ A man was arrested June 11 after he was accused of firing a gun during a small crash on US 395 northbound at Parr Boulevard in Reno—troopers said he shot at a tire during a collision between a Tesla and a Jeep with no injuries reported. Reno Gazette Journal

- ➤ Governor Joe Lombardo vetoed a bill meant to keep ICE agents out of schools on June 12th. He said the measure was too broad and would confuse school staff—advocacy groups said the decision makes immigrant families feel unsafe. KUNR
- ➤ Governor Joe Lombardo set a new record by issuing 76 vetoes in the 2025 legislative session. The Reno National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Warning for today from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. — gusts up to 40 mph and low humidity may rapidly boost fire risks. 2NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters reached 100% containment on the Marie Fire in Spanish Springs yesterday but will keep the site staffed until all hot spots are controlled — officials warn that hazards such as rockfall and loose soils still exist, so residents are advised to steer clear of the area. 2NEWS
