- ➤ Food Truck Fridays will expand its summer schedule by adding events on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Food trucks will serve at Idlewild Park on Friday, June 6th from 4—9 p.m., at Cyan Park on June 11th from 4—8 p.m., and at North Reno-North Valleys Regional Park on June 12th from 4—8 p.m. with events continuing weekly through early August. 2NEWS
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Sparks Fire Department and Washoe County HASTY team are searching the Truckee River between Rock Park — Cottonwood Park for a possible water rescue or body recovery, and no one has been found yet. Officials have not released further details about the search. 2NEWS

- ➤ Reno Police are asking for help to locate Tessi Klikoff — a 62-year-old Filipino Hispanic woman reported missing from Coronado Way at 4:15 on Tuesday — who suffers from medical conditions that require her regular medication. 2NEWS
- ➤ A Reno man was convicted of domestic battery by strangulation and battery by a probationer after he attacked a woman while she was driving—he strangled her with his belt and beat her in the moving car, and his sentencing is set for July 21. 2NEWS
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Charter College-Reno will host a ribbon cutting and open house on Tuesday, June 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at its campus at 750 Sandhill Road—college representatives and local leaders will speak and offer campus tours—and community members will enjoy refreshments while the event celebrates expanded healthcare education programs and new imaging and healthcare facilities, including the launch of a Certificate in Medical Assistant Program. 2NEWS

- ➤ Truckee Meadows Water Authority reminds residents and businesses to water their lawns on assigned days based on the last digit of their street address—addresses with even numbers water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays while odd numbers water on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. They also advise using cooler hours for watering and shortening sprinkler cycles to prevent runoff and conserve water. 2NEWS

- ➤ The Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue Board approved a one-year contract for new chief Richard J Edwards — his term will begin July 1 and end June 30, and he will receive a salary of $296,849.28 with $146,753 in benefits as he replaces former Chief Charles Moore. 2NEWS

- ➤ The Nevada Museum of Art is selling the Levy Mansion for $1.375 million—this historic 4700 square foot three story building at 121 California Ave once housed Sundance Books and has been empty since May 31, 2024. Museum CEO David Walker said they want a new tenant who will add to the neighborhood's cultural energy. Reno Gazette Journal
