- ➤ On Monday, the City of Reno and VOA-NCNN celebrated 10 participants graduating from the Reno Works+ program at City Hall Council Chambers. The 12-week program helps people experiencing homelessness gain job skills — city officials noted every participant secured employment before graduation — and now continues to offer ongoing support. 2NEWS
- ➤ The City of Reno and Moana Springs will offer free public swim days at the Aquatics & Fitness Center on Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8 at 240 W. Moana Lane, with free entry given to the first 125 swimmers each day. Councilmember Miguel Martinez sponsors the event and reminds attendees to bring their own towels and goggles as life vests are available at the center. 2NEWS

- ➤ Reno police said a 12-year-old boy from Reno was killed in a motorcycle and automobile crash on Military Road and Convair Way May 31—impairment was not suspected and the driver cooperated with investigators. Reno Gazette Journal
- ➤ Fire crews responded to a house fire in the Damonte Ranch area of south Reno just before 4:20 p.m. on Monday as the blaze stayed confined to the living area—letting the homeowner escape safely despite significant heat and smoke damage. 2NEWS

- ➤ Tianyu Arts & Culture Inc. announced the Dragon Lights Festival will return to the Wilbur D. May Arboretum and Botanical Gardens at Rancho San Rafael Park this fall—featuring the Odyssey of Waves & Woods theme that transforms the garden with new, glowing lantern displays. The festival opens on Sept. 26 and runs until Thanksgiving weekend with tickets available starting Aug. 18 and updated operating hours throughout the event. KRNV

- ➤ By late Sunday, Governor Lombardo had 223 bills in his office and many more were coming, with him signing 169 and vetoing one so far.
