ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Costco at 2200 Harvard Way was evacuated Friday, May 29 after a pipe burst prompted an emergency evacuation, and staff said the store was expected to remain closed for about one hour while repair teams worked on the issue. KRNV
- ➤ Costco on Harvard Way in Reno was evacuated Friday morning after a Freon leak forced the store to close until at least noon, and employees directed customers away for safety checks. Reno Gazette Journal
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices in Reno are slightly lower today as the average drops to $5.41 a gallon, down a cent from yesterday — a minor change noted in northern Nevada. 2NEWS
- ➤ The Food Bank of Northern Nevada is now spending thousands more on fuel than before the war with Iran began (according to spokesperson Alina Dangerfield) as rising fuel prices continue to impact its services. 2NEWS

- ➤ Storey County deputies saw a mountain lion hiding in the shade near the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center this morning and urged residents to stay alert. Locals are advised to remain cautious in the area. 2NEWS

- ➤ On May 29, the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency presented its proposal to update the regional plan to improve affordable housing access after noting a shortage in our area. The agency will gather community feedback & use additional data in its ongoing review. 2NEWS
- ➤ City officials designated Lucky Motel an unsafe place to live after the owner converted it to apartment-style units without required permits, inspections or safety approvals. 2NEWS
- ➤ Arlington Avenue Bridges and Wingfield Park will reopen to the public on June 9 as RTC crews finish final improvements including new lighting, landscaping and a gate under the north bridge + roadway striping at Arlington and Island avenues. 2NEWS
- ➤ The Reno Housing Authority broke ground yesterday on its new Hope Landing development—expanding permanent supportive housing options for locals. The project will increase housing resources in the area. 2NEWS
