- ➤ Reno Police Department and city officials mourn Detective Thomas Lopey, who recently passed away after nearly 13 years on the force and served in patrol, gang units, and SWAT, leaving behind his wife and daughter. 2NEWS

- ➤ Restoration is underway on the historic doors of Piper's Opera House in Virginia City as the Reyman Brothers team works with a grant from the Commission for Cultural Centers and Historic Preservation; the crew is also refreshing windows at its Reno shop. 2NEWS

- ➤ On May 27, a Reno judge extended a protection order for mayoral candidate Lorton against blogger Michael Leonard, barring Leonard from approaching Lorton, his wife, and home for 150 yards through Dec. 31, with a 25-foot exception at public events (criticism remains protected). Leonard’s attorney said she plans to appeal. Reno Gazette Journal
- ➤ The Nye County Water District Board approved an emergency order urging the county commission to consider a moratorium on data centers in Pahrump Valley to protect water supplies — following Reno City Council’s temporary pause on new applications. - ➤ Senator Rosen toured Western Nevada College's Rural Nursing Expansion and Renovation Project in Fallon on Tuesday morning as a $2.3 million grant funds new technology and classroom space for nursing students.
