- ➤ EmployNV is inviting job seekers to three upcoming hiring events in northern Nevada. Garlock Flexibles will hold a hiring event at the Business Hub in Reno on May 28 with interviews from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Best Western Fallon will conduct its event in Fallon on June 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and the Public Sector Career Fair is scheduled at Reno Town Mall on June 18 with on-the-spot interviews available. 2NEWS

- ➤ Reno-Tahoe International Airport expects 16,000 travelers today and 16,000 on Monday during Memorial Day weekend; the airport advises passengers to arrive at least two hours early & use parking reservations and rideshare options to ease delays. 2NEWS
- ➤ This week in the Nevada Legislature, lawmakers approved several key bills plus left other measures pending. They passed a hidden rental fee measure by a 16+5 vote, an election reform bill to set mail-in ballot deadlines, a law that makes a wrong way driver offense a crime in memory of a young girl, a measure to protect sidewalk street vendors, a bill to officially sanction lacrosse in schools and an insulin cap bill to limit costs at $35. 2NEWS
- ➤ Today in Washington D.C., Senator Jacky Rosen teamed with Senator Todd Young to introduce the bipartisan Healthcare Cybersecurity Act that will require CISA and HHS to work together to boost cybersecurity for our health care system—non-federal organizations will receive additional resources to better protect patient data. The bill targets the increasing cyberattacks that have affected local and rural Nevada facilities. 2NEWS
- ➤ Assembly Bill 111—known as Jaya’s Law and named in memory of 3-year-old Jaya Brooks—was unanimously passed by the Nevada Senate Friday and now heads to Governor Lombardo’s desk; if signed it will make wrong-way driving a crime and impose tougher penalties on offenders. KRNV
