  • On May 20, police arrested 79-year-old Alejandro Barragan from Winnemucca after he was found sleeping in his car outside Reno High School and a rifle — a handgun and four knives were discovered in his vehicle.  KRNV

  • Forest officials say visitors to Lake Tahoe national forests must check access and safety before heading out this Memorial Day weekend—some areas will remain closed due to snow, road damage, or wet conditions while crews work to fully reopen sites.   • Fire danger is expected to near critical levels today and Friday in Reno as dry fuels face strong winds — gusts may reach 40 mph under a Lake Wind Advisory.
