- ➤ The Sparks Library will host a free scam prevention talk tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. for seniors during Older Americans Month at 1125 12th Street in Sparks. The Better Business Bureau will share trends and tips on avoiding scams—if seniors cannot attend, the City of Reno and AARP Nevada will host a Scam Jam Fraud Prevention Fair on May 29 at McKinley Arts & Culture Center. 2NEWS
- ➤ Today marks the unofficial start of summer in Reno-Tahoe as Palisades Tahoe and Mammoth Mountain host their final skiing days and the region gears up for a busy week of concerts, sports games and Memorial Day commemorations. The week also will feature roadwork on Mill Street, North McCarran Boulevard and Keystone Avenue as well as on Interstate 80—details that may affect local travel plans. Reno Gazette Journal

- ➤ On Sunday morning, Sparks Fire Department with 16 personnel responded to a gas leak near A Street and Victorian Avenue after a gas line was struck—NV Energy isolated the leak while evacuating the 1800 and 1900 blocks of A Street. 2NEWS
