- ➤ The Reno Aces are partnering with Nevada Wolf Pack Football and local law enforcement for a charity softball game on Sunday, June 29 to support Northern Nevada Concerns of Police Survivors—25 football players and 25 law enforcement officers will join the game after the Aces face the Salt Lake Bees at Greater Nevada Field. 2NEWS

- ➤ Homewood Mountain Resort announced that its new gondola—which will replace the Madden Chair and take guests up to the future Mid Mountain Lodge—is set for installation next year even though the resort will open next season without it. Preparations will begin this summer so construction can start in summer 2026 once permits and scheduling are secured. 2NEWS

- ➤ Washoe County District Attorney Chris Hicks said the investigation is ongoing after a good Samaritan was killed in Reno on April 26 + two individuals were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Reno Gazette Journal
- ➤ On May 7th, the Neighborhood Police Unit arrested 38-year-old Shawn Skelton (accused of aggravated stalking and violating an extended protection order after he issued death threats and threatened serious bodily harm) at a business on South Meadows Parkway. KRNV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Over the weekend, ICE arrested two individuals in Reno, Luis Urbina-Bucio, 36 from Mexico, charged with battery plus carrying a concealed weapon, and Juan Baltazar-Ramirez, 46 from Mexico, with a history of domestic violence plus multiple removals from the U.S. Community groups will hold a rally today at 10 a.m. outside the Bruce R. Thompson Federal Building to demand transparency from Governor Lombardo regarding the detainments. KRNV
- ➤ The City of Reno announced registration is now open for Sierra Kids Summer Camps and specialty programs beginning June 16, offering full-day sessions and specialty camps for children ages six to 12. Held at local schools and community centers, the camps include activities such as arts and crafts, bike lessons, STEAM challenges and sports with weekly fees ranging from $138 to $315+ families may also apply for income-based scholarships for select full-day camps. 2NEWS
- ➤ The Washoe County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) Hasty Team rescued two paddleboarders on Pyramid Lake on Saturday after strong winds pushed them nearly six miles off shore near Anahoe Island following a call from Pyramid Lake Police Department; officials remind water recreators to wear a personal flotation device. 2NEWS

- ➤ Health officials in Reno are investigating ghost kitchens that let restaurants offer different menus on delivery apps—Kristen Debraga said that as long as these kitchens have a health permit, they are legal even if they seem misleading. One example is Buddy V's Cake by the Slice, which appears at 5000 Smithridge Drive but actually operates from a kitchen inside Chuck E. Cheese at a Pep Boys, and health inspectors will check it soon. - ➤ A listeria outbreak has hospitalized 10 people and prompted Fresh and Ready Foods LLC to recall ready-to-eat products sold in Nevada and three other western states. The FDA+CDC are working with state and local authorities to remove items with use by dates from April 22 to May 19. Reno Gazette Journal
