- ➤ Reno Rodeo Foundation launched its month-long Spring Denim Drive on May 1 to provide new clothes and essentials for children entering foster care across 14 counties; community members may donate money+clothing or offer drop-off locations as the drive continues. 2NEWS

- ➤ Dan Sadler has been named the new superintendent for Storey County School District—he begins on July 1 and was formerly Associate Superintendent at Carson City School District. 2NEWS
- ➤ EmployNV hosted a free resume workshop in Reno yesterday for job seekers to enhance their resumes + walk-ins were welcome. 2NEWS
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Reno Redevelopment Agency launched the ReSecure Pilot initiative to match eligible businesses' security upgrade costs up to $5,000 in redevelopment areas one and two. Applications are open now through June 15 & selected applicants will be notified by summer. 2NEWS
- ➤ Local officials completed a federal-required Point in Time Count on May 6 to tally residents experiencing homelessness and guide resource planning. The count helps direct support to those in need in our region. 2NEWS
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Churchill County High School’s softball team must forfeit some games and has been removed from the tournament bracket after the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association found that ineligible players took part using falsified records. The school district said it is in talks with the association. 2NEWS
