The Sparks City Council voted unanimously to have the city manager and city attorney work together to negotiate a counter offer for a lawsuit—Nancy Baker alleged the city was negligent in repairing a Victorian Avenue sidewalk defect in December and is seeking $200,000.

The council’s decision sets the stage for further negotiations as the litigation moves forward.
