- ➤ Drink Coffee Do Stuff, a Lake Tahoe-based specialty coffee chain, will open its first dedicated cafe in Reno on Friday, April 18 at the South Creek Retail Center on Foothill Road. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Starting May 7, travelers boarding domestic flights must use a Real ID or an approved ID (such as an unexpired passport) to meet federal security rules. Those needing a Real ID must visit Nevada DMV offices (bringing documents for identity, Social Security, and residence) to complete the process. Reno Gazette Journal
- ➤ The Nevada Legislature is reviewing a suite of housing bills that will strengthen tenant rights, revise eviction processes in Reno and Las Vegas, and set new rules for rent control, price gouging and solar net metering for affordable housing. One bill would give Reno $7 million (from state funds) for an eviction diversion program while others aim to boost consumer protections against deceptive practices. Reno Gazette Journal
- ➤ Today, the Nevada Attorney General’s Office released a new online form for residents to report Social Security payment issues (to support evidence for potential legal action). AG Aaron D.
