- ➤ Emergency crews responded Friday morning after a car crashed into an occupied motel room at The Point at Midtown on S. Virginia Street near Plumb Lane—three people were evaluated for injuries and responders expect the area cleared within the hour as authorities investigate the building's integrity. 2NEWS

- ➤ A Reno man, a twenty year old named Dylan Brown, was convicted on three counts of Battery by Prisoner, Probationer, or Parolee on Friday after he assaulted police officers & medical staff during violent incidents that began in August when he tried to hit his mother following an eviction notice; his sentencing is scheduled for May 21. 2NEWS
- ➤ Community members held a candlelight vigil Friday evening at 5:30 p.m. at 3385 White Lake Parkway in Cold Springs to honor 5-year-old Izabella Loving, who was found dead last week in her home — her father, Nicholas Loving, faces child abuse/neglect charges with bail set at $10 million cash. - ➤ Washoe County Sheriff's Office investigated a body found at 10:45 p.m. on April 10 in an Incline Village home (the deceased remains unidentified and officials said there is no public threat). KRNV
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Jessica McClain talked to local officials on April 11 about a dumpster program to reduce wildfire risk around Reno homes — the program will remove wildfire fuels to help protect neighborhoods. 2NEWS
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Reno City Council voted unanimously to shift credit card fees onto customers instead of using city funds. The new rule will charge a 2.7% fee on debit and credit card transactions starting July 1—an action expected to save over $1 million. Reno Gazette Journal
- ➤ Services at the Renown Crisis Care Center in Reno were suspended on April 10 after federal funding cuts ended operations at the only crisis center set to serve more than 7,000 adults each year. Mayor Schieve, who spent seven years securing the project, and Sen. Cortez Masto have asked officials why the funding was cut early (raising concerns for first responders who now must send patients to emergency rooms and jails). Reno Gazette Journal
