- ➤ Reno companies will compete in Corporate Challenge 2026, a citywide series of athletic and casual games from Sept. 9 to Oct. 4. Registration is open through Aug. 3 at City facilities and new offsite locations. 2NEWS
- ➤ Old Granite Street Eatery (a longtime fixture) at 243 South Sierra Street closed permanently after posting on Facebook Tuesday and thanking the Reno community for its years of support. 2NEWS

- ➤ AAA reports that national gas prices remain flat at $5.25 per gallon while Nevada’s average has crept up one cent to $5.01; the update helps Reno drivers understand current fuel costs. 2NEWS

- ➤ Reno firefighters gear up for a busy summer fire season as experts predict the peak period may start one month to six weeks early+ officials will monitor conditions and update residents as needed. 2NEWS
- ➤ A winter storm watch is in effect for the Sierra and I-80 starting Friday evening, with heavy snow and strong winds expected this weekend. Travelers on Donner Pass should prepare for icy roads as lower temperatures and rain turn to snow in mountain communities. Reno Gazette Journal
- ➤ Prescribed burns began in Dog Valley, west of Reno, on Apr. 8 and produced visible smoke+ which affected local air quality, according to Alin Beane who reviewed the situation. 2NEWS
