- ➤ Washoe County deputies arrested Morgan Jack and Sierra Shopes on March 30 (at 12:15 p.m.) during a Sun Valley traffic stop after a Reno K9 officer alerted them to drug odors that led to a search finding paraphernalia and controlled substances including methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana, and both are booked in the Washoe County Detention Facility. - ➤ At 9:28 a.m. Monday, a magnitude 4.24 earthquake was recorded 50 miles northwest of Carlin, 71 miles east and northeast of Winnemucca, and 32 miles north of Battle Mountain — the Nevada Seismological Laboratory at UNR reported the event. 2NEWS

- ➤ A bill called the Lock the Clock Act advanced out of committee Monday in the Nevada Legislature (backed by bipartisan lawmakers) and may let Nevada stick to standard time after November if passed, with sponsors saying that ending the twice-yearly clock changes will boost public health and safety. - ➤ The IRS issued advice on March 24 — including options such as Free File and volunteer tax help — to guide Reno taxpayers in filing their 2024 returns before the April 15 deadline.
