  • NV Energy said a major power outage in Verdi has left 6,399 customers without power—there is no estimated time for restoration.  2NEWS
  • Reno gets a busy week as the Reno Aces begin their home games tomorrow at Greater Nevada Field while celebrity chef Alton Brown hosts his show on Wednesday at the Pioneer Center. Heavy winter storms will drop snow in higher elevations through Thursday—roadwork on California Avenue, Mill Street and I-80 will cause lane restrictions this week.  Reno Gazette Journal

CRIME NEWS

  • The trial of Robert Paul Eikelberger, accused of murdering Sierra Ceccarelli in 2016, has been postponed—Nevada Supreme Court will review his claim of rights violations after Judge Kathleen Drakulich vacated the trial date scheduled for today.  KRNV
  • On Friday, the Storey County Sheriff's Office said 32 year old Steven Doyle crashed his Porsche Coupe on Geiger Grade near mile marker 5 while speeding between 80 and 85 mph in a 45 mph zone and that the Nevada Highway Patrol arrested him for suspected DUI and carrying a firearm while intoxicated after an investigation, with one passenger taken to Renown for non life threatening injuries.  2NEWS

  • Chain controls were required on parts of Mt. Rose Highway and on I-80 west of Truckee on March 30th.  2NEWS
  • A Nevada bill seeks to align state rules with the FTC rule on live-event ticket transparency by requiring clear price disclosures and full refunds within 30 days if an event is canceled. Senate Bill 338 is set to be heard today and lets consumers pursue civil action for deceptive practices—boosting protection for buyers.  KRNV
