- ➤ Assembly Bill 409 proposes to expand special license plates to include Space Force veterans and their immediate families—extending benefits beyond those for veterans of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. The bipartisan bill will be heard in Carson City today and would allow combining personalized prestige plates with those honoring family members of service members killed or injured on active duty. - ➤ The Nevada Department of Transportation invites residents to a virtual public information meeting from March 17 to April 17 on phase two of the U.S. 395 widening project in the North Valleys and offers an in-person open house on April 1 at O’Brien Middle School from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Construction for phase two is expected to begin as early as 2026 and will include adding lanes, new traffic signals, and pavement repairs—lane reductions and ramp closures will occur during work.
