  • The 13th annual Leprechaun 5K Run/Walk in Reno drew both experienced runners and first-timers this morning. A high wind warning remains in effect until 11 PM PDT with gusts up to 70 mph—residents should secure outdoor items and prepare for potential power outages.  2NEWS

CRIME NEWS

  • The Washoe County Sheriff's Office warns Reno residents about phone scams that pressure people to pay money for warrants, fines or missed jury duty and advises them to verify calls using the official nonemergency number (775 785-9276) when red flags appear (such as urgent demands or the use of real names).  2NEWS
  • Early Sunday morning, Sparks police responded to a fight at the Nugget Casino—one 35-year-old man was fatally wounded and another 19-year-old received gunshot treatment.  2NEWS
  • The Churchill County Sheriff's Office asks for help finding Nancy Griffiths, who was reported missing on January 10 and is believed to be in the Reno/Sparks area with an unknown man—anyone with information is urged to call Deputy Brian Miller at 775 423 3116.  2NEWS

  • Former Wolf Pack and NFL players Joel Bitonio and Austin Corbett will lead a free youth football camp at Mackay Stadium on April 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.—open to kids in grades 3-8.
