ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A fire on Lupin Drive in Sun Valley destroyed a mobile home, travel trailer and RV just after 6:30 p.m. Saturday, displacing four people who received help from the Red Cross while officials investigated the cause.  2NEWS

CULTURE NEWS

  • Virginia City holds its annual St. Paddy’s Day festival featuring a Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry where over a dozen cooks compete while visitors enjoy a parade, live Irish music, and a saloon crawl. Families follow a long-standing tradition as they enjoy unique dishes and dancing in celebration.  2NEWS

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Crews at Ski Beach in Incline Village are beginning an underwater recovery operation Monday to remove a storm-damaged barge and fireworks remnants spilled last July. The 15-working-day project follows weekend inspections and aims to keep the lake safe for swimmers and paddle boarders.  KRNV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo toured the Thacker Pass lithium project today, and the first phase is expected to produce 40,000 metric tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate annually once operational.  2NEWS

  • The Reno Fire Department shaved their heads during the Shamrock Shave fundraiser to support childhood cancer research by the St Baldricks Foundation. The event took place this past weekend.  2NEWS
