  • Police arrested a suspect for fraud in the sale of a car in Reno — he now faces charges for title jumping and tampering with the odometer.  2NEWS
  • Reno police and fire officials responded to a motorcycle crash early Monday near Talus Way on North Virginia Street where 37-year-old Bernard Davis and 28-year-old Jesenia Virgen-Flores were killed—speeding is suspected and the investigation is ongoing.  2NEWS
  • Authorities are searching for suspects involved in a museum burglary at the Wilbur D. May Museum — the culprits used credit cards to make fraudulent transactions.  2NEWS

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Over $1 million from Lake Tahoe license plates is funding local environmental projects— a fish passage at Third Creek in Incline Village beginning construction in summer 2026, a 1.7-mile multi-use trail in Tunnel Creek due this summer, a vessel-cleaning machine at Sand Harbor and new restrooms at Spooner Lake State Park.  KUNR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Reno City Council approved a contract for Core Construction to demolish the old police headquarters for a new fire station. Demolition is set to begin in April and the $3.5 million budget from the Redevelopment Agency will fund a phased project with seven apparatus bays, living spaces, offices, and a museum — steps planned to continue through 2026.  KRNV
  • Every two years Nevada lawmakers and lobbyists drive from Las Vegas to Carson City for the legislative session and face a scramble for housing as rising rents and low session pay strain their budgets — Assemblymember Cecilia González and lobbyist Annette Magnus share how high costs force them to make tough choices.  KUNR
