  • Hundreds took to midtown Reno in their undies for a charity run & raised awareness and funds for people with a rare genetic condition on Feb. 21.  2NEWS
  • Reno neighbors are still clearing driveways after a multi-day storm dumped snow on the valley floor this week; some residents reported interrupted commutes while others welcomed the weather. The city prioritizes main roads while neighborhood streets await plowing.  2NEWS

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Saturday just after 7 p.m., an underground power box exploded near Meadowood Mall, causing a temporary road closure on South McCarran Boulevard and a power outage affecting over a thousand customers, while NV Energy is investigating and reported no injuries.  2NEWS
  • Authorities closed Castle Peak Trailhead when a Tuesday avalanche claimed eight lives among a group of skiers, and recovery operations using helicopters (to dump water on unstable snow) have caused traffic delays on Interstate 80.  Reno Gazette Journal
