- ➤ The O'Brien Middle School pantry supports nearly 200 local families with selected groceries through a partnership between WCSD Family Resource Center and the Food Bank of Northern Nevada, while the community can donate at Friday, Feb. 6 + Souper Bowl of Caring at Smith’s on South Meadows Parkway. - ➤ The Minden-Tahoe airshow will return from Oct. 16 to Oct. 18 at the Minden-Tahoe Airport. Community members can vote online for a new name (Minden-Tahoe SkyFest, High Desert Skies, Sierra Thunder, or Aviation Roundup) while the event will feature an illuminated night show and a Patriots Jet Team performance. 2NEWS
- ➤ Hot August Nights announced that its 40th annual classic car show will run from July 31 to Aug. 9 at downtown The Row, with a kickoff in Virginia City (aiming for up to 400 vehicles) and Caesars Entertainment partnering to boost registration to 6,000. Reno Gazette Journal

- ➤ Washoe County School District will host two hiring fairs for non-licensed positions at Debbie Smith CTE Academy in Reno. The events will take place on Saturday, Jan. 31 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 2NEWS

- ➤ On Feb. 24 at 5:30 p.m., Washoe County and the Nevada Division of Insurance will host a forum at the Administration Complex to discuss new homeowners insurance laws for wildfire risk, with Nevada Insurance Commissioner Ned Gaines explaining them + Emergency Management and Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District covering preparedness. 2NEWS
- ➤ Yesterday, the Reno City Council discussed whether to approve or deny an amendment to the Lakeridge Resort master plan + will announce its decision soon. 2NEWS
- ➤ The downtown library branch will stop regular Sunday service starting next month, offering special events only on that day. Trustees accelerated the change originally set for July to address funding and security concerns, and similar hour adjustments are planned across the system. KUNR
- ➤ Volunteers are set to conduct the Point-In-Time Count today, Jan. 29, across rural and urban areas in Nevada as part of a federally mandated effort to record homeless individuals & families.
