About this event
In this biweekly writing-focused club, we will explore the many ways you can use language and your creative muscles to write about your own personal life and experiences. We will explore creative writing genres such as poetry, short stories, journaling, and more, to learn how to describe complex emotions, life stories, relationships with others, and hoes and desires for the future. Using examples from notable writers, we will see how they write to gain inspiration and an understanding of the power of creative writing.
This club is not exclusive to current oncology patients. It is open to friends and family or other support people who also wise to participate and learn to write creatively. The club aims to be an open space for all the ranges of emotions that come with a cancer diagnosis and treatment, or with life more generally.
Materials to write with (journals, pens, highlighters) as well as reading materials will be provided. No prior experience with creative writing is required-only an open heart and a mind ready to create! Feel free to bring a guest!!
